Union Station in Northeast D.C. was briefly evacuated Sunday evening after a fire alarm went off, fire officials say.
D.C. Fire and EMS said the evacuation was a precautionary measure after an "automatic" fire alarm.
"We are being let back into Union Station. Police officer says it was just the fire alarm that went off," Emmanuelle Saliba, a Senior Editor for NBC News, tweeted just before 7:30 p.m.
Just got to Union Station, it was evacuated about 10 minutes ago. Everyone standing outside, no panic. pic.twitter.com/nGeCPXh7Dn — Emmanuelle Saliba (@_esaliba) January 23, 2017
