A U.S. Park Police officer suffered a leg injury chasing carjacking suspects Tuesday afternoon.

The incident started Monday when a woman was in her idling BMW SUV in front of her home when two people pulled her out and drove away in her car.

"He just pulled my arm and he said, 'Get out of your car,'" the woman told News4. "Right then, I just panicked. I was screaming, honking the horn, and at the same time, fighting him."

An officer on patrol spotted the stolen BMW Tuesday and attempted to stop it, but the driver fled, ending up on Route 450 in Landover Hills.

Witnesses told Prince George’s County Bureau reporter Zachary Kiesch the chase continued up and down Route 450, with the driver of the stolen vehicle making several moves to elude police.

The chase ended when the BMW went down an embankment in a residential neighborhood, Kiesch reported.

Two juvenile males fled on foot but were apprehended.

An officer suffered a non-life-threatening leg injury in the foot chase and was flown by helicopter to an area hospital.
