Two Found Dead in Bethesda

Bodies discovered by victim's relative

Montgomery County Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Bethesda after two people were found dead in an apartment Saturday.

County Fire/Rescue personnel responded to an apartment on Westbard Avenue shortly before noon Saturday, where they found the bodies of 38-year-old Martin O'Toole, who resided at the apartment, and Hong Trang Tracy Vu of Silver Spring. Vu's age has not been established, but she is believed to have been in her mid-30s.

A relative of O'Toole's who'd been unable to contact him over the previous two days had entered the apartment and discovered the bodies before alerting police.

Investigators said that both victims showed evidence of trauma to their bodies, though an official cause of death has not been determined and an autopsy is pending.

Anyone with information about these deaths is asked to call the Major Crimes Division of the Montgomery County Police Department at 240-773-5070.
