Trumps Promise Greatness for Old Post Office Hotel in D.C.

Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka promise to turn the Old Post Office Pavilion in downtown Washington into one of the best luxury hotels in the country.

The Trumps spoke at a news conference Tuesday about their deal with the federal government to transform the underused building. They hope to open the $200 million hotel in late 2015 or early 2016.

The hotel will have 271 rooms, some with 25-foot ceilings, and two luxury restaurants.

D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton has been pushing for the building to be renovated for years. She said the district is lucky to have the Trumps.

Mayor Vincent Gray said the opening of the hotel will be β€œan extraordinary contribution to the hospitality development of this city.”
