U Street Club Ordered to Close for 96 Hours After Triple Shooting

Indulj ordered shut down for 96 hours following a triple shooting

Police Chief Cathy Lanier has ordered a U Street nightclub shut down for 96 hours beginning at 6 p.m. Monday following a triple shooting overnight.

Three men were injured shortly before 12:30 a.m. outside Indulj at 1208 U St. NW. One was struck in the back, one in the shoulder and one in the leg. Police said that a white vehicle may have been involved.

Police said they didn't know what prompted the incident. They found the victims suffering from gunshot wounds near the corner of 12th and U.

D.C. law permits the police chief to invoke the four-day closure. There is evidence the shooting ws related to a fight inside the club, police said.

Lanier also requested the "immediate revocation" of the club's alcohol license, News4's Jackie Bensen reports.

The D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration will review.
