Police say a 17-year-old boy has died after he was shot Friday morning in a Reston home.

Police identified the deceased as Juan Carlos Godoy, 17, of Reston.

Godoy was shot at a home in the 2200 block of Marginella Drive. Police were called around 10:15 a.m. Friday.

Gody was airlifted to a hospital, where he died early Sunday.

Authorities said DeJesus Martinez, 26, of Reston, was charged with illegal firearm possession in connection with the shooting. Martinez was an acquaintance of the victim.

Police are still determining whether the shooting was accidental. There have been no additional charges placed at this time and the investigation is continuing.
