Baltimore City Teacher Accused of Distributing Child Pornography

A Maryland teacher is accused of possessing and distributing child pornography.

Authorities say 50-year-old Dan Kevin Scott of Linthicum, Maryland, is a teacher at Patterson High School in the Baltimore City Public Schools system. He previously taught students in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools system.

Anne Arundel County Police say that while investigating online child pornography, they found evidence that led them to search a Linthicum home last month. Detectives seized various pieces of computer equipment and discovered apparent images of child pornography.

Scott was arrested and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of distribution of child pornography.

Anne Arundel County Police said the investigation remains fluid, and are asking anyone with information to call them at 410-222-3484. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line 410-222-4700.

Despite repeated calls to Baltimore City Public schools, the school system has not yet commented on whether Scott's current status with the school system.
