19-Year-Old Woman Accused of Using Taser During Dupont Circle Brawl

Witness: "Everyone was punching each other. Gender was irrelevant"

A woman is free on personal recognizance Monday after a Sunday night brawl that stretched across Connecticut Avenue NW in Dupont Circle and allegedly involved a Taser.

Alicia McCoy, 19, pleaded guilty to assault, stolen property and possession of a destructive device in D.C. Superior Court Monday afternoon.

According to court documents, McCoy was seen passing the Taser around during the brawl.

Bre Jordan was celebrating a birthday when she encountered the melee.

“I saw a guy knocked to the ground, not moving, and then someone came up and stomped on his head multiple times,” she said.

She recorded some of the brawl on her cellphone, including the distinct sound of a Taser deployed.

"Some of the aggressors were women," Jordan said. "One of the women had a Taser. She was Tasing women, she was Tasing men. There were other women punching each other. They were punching men, punching women. Everyone was punching each other. Gender was irrelevant."

Outside court, McCoy denied having a Taser.

"No, get out of my face!" she said.

Three people were injured in the brawl, and one was admitted to a hospital, but all are expected to be OK.

McCoy is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 11.
