A Silver Spring, Md., man is facing attempted murder charges after police say he shot another man in the leg.

The shooting happened Wednesday morning in the 2200 block of Wimbledon Circle in Silver Spring, Md. Police said they responded to a shooting and found a 55-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The suspect had already left the scene.

Investigators said the victim and suspect knew each other, and had gotten into an argument inside the suspect's townhouse. They say the suspect shot the other man as he was trying to leave.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to recover.

Hours later officers arrested Timothy Roosevelt Prue, 48, in northwest D.C. Prue was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and use of a handgun in the commission of a violent felony.

As of this afternoon he was being held in D.C., waiting to be extradited to Montgomery County.
