Second Victim Dies After Double Shooting in NE

A second victim has died as a result of a double shooting in Northeast, Metropolitan Police said Sunday.

The shooting occurred at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road. When police arrived, they found the first victim lying in the roadway, with apparent gunshot wounds and no signs of life. He was identified as Raymond Harris, 44, of Northwest D.C.

Police also found the second victim suffering from gunshot wounds nearby. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. But that victim, Nathaniel Beasley Jr., 69, of Southeast D.C., died Sunday morning of his injuries, police said.

The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of someone wanted for homicide committed in the district.
