School Bus Driver Arrested for Drunken Driving in Maryland

Maryland State Police say they arrested a school bus driver on drunken driving charges while she was on her way to pick up children for a field trip.

Authorities say 52-year-old Pamela Willie of Randallstown is charged with 23 traffic violations including drunken driving. After pulling the bus over, police say troopers found several full, half-full and empty containers of beer and liquor on the bus.

Police say several concerned drivers had called to report a commercial bus operating erratically on Interstate 695 in Baltimore County around noon. They say troopers spotted an orange school bus swerving onto the shoulder of the highway and stopped it.

Police say Willie was on her way to a private school in Montgomery County to pick up students for a field trip to Washington.
