Raise the Roof!

VA town manager's car is jumped... literally!

Some vandals use baseball bats. Others prefer spray paint or a knife or a heavy brick. In one Virginia town, though, a suspected scoundrel might have used something else: his own body weight.

Police in Culpeper, Va., are trying to figure out what happened to town manager Jeff Muzzy’s work car. It seems as if the top of the 2000 Ford Contour has been re-contoured. It’s got a big dent in it. It’s almost as if someone sat on the roof.

“It looks like something fell or jumped up and down on it for several minutes,” Muzzy told the Culpeper Star Express. “To me, someone just wandered over there and said, ‘Boy, wouldn’t it be fun to jump on that car?’ I hate to even give them credit for it.”

Muzzy rarely uses the car. It’s usually other town staffers behind the wheel, so he doubts the incident was personal. There’s even the possibility that the culprit isn’t human. One theory going around City Hall is that Bigfoot came to town.  Hmmm...

Police aren't buying the Bigfoot claim, however.  They are investigating the incident as vandalism.
