Teens accuse teacher of sex abuse

A Prince William County gym teacher was arrested after two 16-year-old girls said they were sexually abused by him.
Anthony Haywood, 27, is a physical education teacher at Brentsville High School in Nokesville, Va. The students accused Haywood of having inappropriate contact with them after school hours. The alleged incidents took place at his house and did not take place on school grounds, officials said.
Police said one of the students reported the alleged abuse to a school resource officer.
"We became aware of the allegations and worked with police to investigate them," said Ken Blackston, spokesperson for Prince William County Schools. "Once it became clear that possible criminal actions took place, we turned the investigation over to police. This is a very unfortunate situation and it is one that we will not tolerate."
Haywood, in his third year a gym teacher at the school, has been placed on unpaid leave. After being charged with two counts of indecent liberties by a person in custodial or supervisory relationship he was released on bond.
