The mother of Baltimore Orioles Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. was abducted, bound and blindfolded at her Aberdeen home Tuesday morning, then driven around Harford and Baltimore counties in her 1998 Lincoln Town Car. After a witness reported seeing a woman tied up in the backseat of a car about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, police ran the license plate, learned it was Mrs. Ripken’s car and started a missing person search.

Mrs. Ripken, 74, was found in her neighborhood about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday with her hands bound in the backseat of her car. Paramedics checked her out, and she appeared to be physically fine.
