State police say a Virginia man stole a motorcycle during a test drive and later crashed it on Interstate 95 in Wilmington.

The crash occurred Saturday afternoon. Police say 22-year-old Tony Harris of Norfolk, Va., made arrangements Saturday morning to test-drive the Suzuki motorcycle at a dealership in Philadelphia. Another person went along with him as an escort during the test drive, also riding a motorcycle.

When they stopped for gas, police say the escort asked Harris for the keys, and Harris instead pulled a handgun and sped away. The other motorcyclist followed him south on I-95 into Delaware. Police say Harris lost control of the motorcycle and crashed on the ramp to Delaware Avenue. He was later arrested without incident and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
