Maryland High Schoolers Charged With Kidnapping, Raping Classmate

Two teens have been charged with kidnapping and raping a classmate in Frederick, Maryland, and police say a third suspect remains at large.

The Frederick News-Post reported Wednesday that police say a younger female acquaintance of the victim may have convinced the suspects to act.

The victim told police she was walking into an apartment near Hillcrest Drive, when three suspects grabbed her by the hair and put a knife or blade on her chest and cut her. She said two were classmates who allegedly told her they were acting on orders from the younger female acquaintance.

The suspects threw her into a car and drove her to another apartment and raped her, police said.

Authorities in Fredrick have charged 17-year-old Edgar Natanal Chicas-Hernandez and 19-year-old Victor Antonio Gonzalez-Guttierres.

A third suspect recorded video of Chicas-Hernandez and Gonzalez Guttierres assaulting the victim, police said.

Immigration officials say Gonzalez Guttierres is in the country illegally and faces immigration hearings.

Police did not identify the third suspect but said they anticipate additional charges. The victim told detectives the third suspect covered his face and recorded the rape. Police are looking for the video.

"If we're able to view that video, we can validate or it may give us more clues, more leads, maybe more people were involved. We don't know," Frederick Police Department Sgt. Andrew Alcorn said.

Court documents do not identify the young female acquaintance. She repeatedly denied involvement.

Frederick police are asking anyone with information to call (301) 600-2102.
