The Metropolitan Police Department says it is investigating a sexual assault that occurred last weekend in Northeast Washington.

Police say officers responded to the 4900 block of Blaine Street NE around 10 p.m. on Saturday evening and were approached by the victim. She victim told the officers that she was walking on Blaine Street when a man approached her and forced her into an alley at knifepoint, where he sexually assaulted her.

Police describe the suspect as a 40-year-old black male with a dark complexion and thin build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a red hooded sweatshirt.
