News4's Jackie Bensen has the latest details in an American woman's experience during the siege of Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya.

A North Carolina woman landed at Dulles International Airport Tuesday after surviving a deadly shooting at Nairobi's Westgate Mall Saturday.

News4's Erika Gonzalez spoke with Bendita Malakia as she reunited with her parents. She was eating on the mall's terrace Saturday when she heard explosions.

"I'm so glad to be here with my parents," Malakia said. "It was really, really crazy."

At least 60 people have been killed and more than 170 were injured. Somalia-based militant group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack.

Malakia said she saw a couple of plain-clothed shooters while hiding in the back of a home goods store.
