Md. Woman Accused of Stealing Birthday Cake

A woman has been charged after allegedly stealing a birthday cake from a grocery store in Annapolis.

Annapolis police say it happened Saturday at a Giant grocery store on Bay Ridge Road, after 26-year-old Krystle Green of Annapolis entered the store with her son, and put a birthday cake into their shopping cart, according to a police report.

The report says the two pushed the cart near the exit of the store and that the boy waited there while Green stood in line without any items. The report says the boy exited the store without paying for the $35.99 cake and waited outside.

Green then left and took the cart from her son.

Store security stopped her, and police charged her with theft. Green declined comment when reached by phone Monday.
