Man Shot by Police in Fairfax County

    Police shot a man in Fairfax County Tuesday afternoon.

    Police went to the 6600 block of Thurlton Drive in the Kingstowne area of the county after getting a report about a suicidal person about 4 p.m.

    At the scene, a 37-year-old man was shot, police said.

    He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

    Police have not said whether or not the man had a gun.

    The officer was placed on routine administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
