Police Investigate Homicide in Montgomery County

21-year-old man shot in his apartment

Montgomery County police are investigating a homicide in the White Oak area of Silver Spring.

Police responding to a shooting report Friday afternoon found 21-year-old Jesse Patrick Campos inside an apartment in the 11400 block of July Drive. Investigators say that Campos was shot in his apartment and died at the scene.

Witnesses told News4's Shomari Stone they saw two men fleeing the scene. Authorities say that the two men forced one of Campos' roomates to open the door to the apartment, where they shot Campos before fleeing. Investigators say that neither the roomate nor a woman who was in the apartment at the time were injured in the shooting.

One of the suspects is described as standing between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and wearing dark clothingat the time of the shooting. He is described as having a dark complexion and wearing  his hair in dreadlocks. The other suspect is described as standing between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was also described as wearing dark clothing at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division at (240) 773-5070. Anonymous callers may contact 1-866-411-8477. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
