Montgomery County Police are investigating the death of a man who was attacked in Wheaton, Maryland, Sunday night.
A road crew on Veirs Mill Road called 911 after they found 22-year-old Jose Miguel Henriquez Alfaro lying in the road. Alfaro was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Witnesses say the incident started as a fight in a nearby parking lot. The victim ran away and was chased by several men.
"At this time, we don't know what precipitated the event. Detectives are on the scene they're gathering information and talking to witnesses," said Rick Goodale, an officer with Montgomery County Police.
No arrests have been made.
