A D.C. man turned himself in Friday morning for allegedly putting a fluid-filled condom on the shoulder of a woman on a Metro train, police say.
Lawrence Nathaniel Harris, 25, of Northeast D.C., had been wanted on simple assault charges, according to an arrest warrant issued Wednesday.
Metro Transit Police said the incident happened May 24 on a Largo-bound Blue Line train, police said.
The woman was not physically injured, police said.
Metro Transit Police identified Harris as a possible suspect using digital camera footage and the victim positively identified him as the suspect.
Police said after the arrest warrant was issued, Harris made arrangements to turn himself in Thursday morning, but did not show up. He turned himself in and was arrested without incident following media coverage, police said Friday morning.
