A 75-year-old man was abducted and forced to withdraw money for his captor several times Wednesday afternoon, Montgomery County police said.

The victim was leaving a Giant Food Store on University Boulevard in Wheaton, Md., about 2:30 p.m. when a man in his 30s approached with a weapon, possibly a box cutter, police said.

The culprit drove the victim's car from ATM to ATM inside and possibly outside of Montgomery County, police said. He forced the victim to withdraw untold amounts of cash from the ATMs.

After several hours, the culprit relinquished the car and let the victim go at a Metro station, police said.

The victim called police when he got home about 7 p.m.
