Large Cash Reward for Hate Crime Leads

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that it is now offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in a Brandywine, Md., hate crime.

A resident of the 4200 block of Hilltop Court in Brandywine called police at about 8 a.m. Saturday morning after he found a charred cross in his front yard, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The cross is about 3 feet tall and 1 inch wide. Officers responded and are currently following leads.
