Guilty Verdict Reached After Death of Virginia Police Reservist

Three women and three men charged in connection to the death of Virginia volunteer police reservist Kevin Quick were found guilty Wednesday of all charges, NBC29 in Charlottesville, Virginia reports.

Travis Bell (aka Kweli Uhuru), Daniel Mathis, Mersadies Shelton and Shantai Shelton were convicted of charges related to murder kidnapping, racketeering and robbery, NBC29 reported.

Gert Arthur Wright (aka Halisi Uhuru) and Anthony Stokes were convicted of racketeering conspiracy, the station reported.

Quick, 45, of Rockfish, Virginia, was reported missing after he failed to arrive at a friend's house on Jan. 31, 2014 for a surprise party in Albemarle County. His body was found a few days later in a remote part of Virginia.

Quick was a 25-year veteran of the volunteer reserve police force in Waynesboro, Virginia, west of Charlottesville.

Bell, Mathis and the Sheltons are siblings. Police previously described all six defendants as gang members.

A mistrial was declared in May 2015 for four of the defendants.

Quick, who had a 4-month-old daughter, was remembered as a dedicated, unflappable officer and kind, gentle man.
