It's a bad break-up tale crazy enough to come out of Hollywood. And it did, actually.
Oliver G. Malone, 32, of Hollywood, Md., (gotcha!) is charged with attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly tried to have his ex-girlfriend murdered, according to the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
Detectives said Malone contacted an individual and asked that person to kill his former flame for an undisclosed amount of money. But the would-be hitman contacted police, who then set up a phone surveillance sting.
Investigators said phone recordings show Malone was in the planning stages of having his ex killed, and that Malone had agreed to provide a picture of his ex to help facilitate the murder.
Authorities arrested Malone, who is being held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.
