Virginia is paying its respects to a state trooper who was fatally shot on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County last week.

Master Trooper Junius A. Walker's funeral is set for Tuesday morning at Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Petersburg. The service will be followed by a private burial.

A wake was held Monday night for Walker, 63. The 35-year state police veteran was married and and had two grown children.

Prosecutors say they'll seek the death penalty for the man charged with killing Walker and shooting at another trooper March 7.

Russell E. Brown III, 28, of Chesterfield County is being held without bond at the Meherrin River Regional Jail in Alberta. He's

charged with capital murder

, two felony firearms counts and attempted capital murder.
