WASHINGTON -- A pizza shop owner's body was found locked tight inside the establishment Tuesday.

Police officers went to the Pizza Mart at Fourth and Adams streets in Northeast to check on 44-year-old Shahabuddin Rana's welfare at about 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The man may have been killed Monday night, police told News4's Jackie Bensen. Investigators are puzzled by the locked doors.

The death may have been the result of a robbery, police said. Rana may have been stabbed and beaten to death, sources told News4's Pat Collins.

Rana owned the restaurant with his brother.

Police handed out fliers Wednesday in hopes of getting information to lead them to the killer. Investigators are checking security cameras for images of the crime or any possible suspects.
