D.C. to Release Depositions Amid Lottery Probe

District of Columbia officials have agreed to release three depositions that could shed light on an investigation of the city's handling of its lottery contract.

District attorneys agreed at a hearing on Wednesday to waive confidentiality rules on the depositions of Chief Financial Officer Natwar Gandhi, Councilman Jim Graham and Robert Andary. Andary is the former internal affairs chief in Gandhi's office.

The Washington Examiner reports (http://bit.ly/VClspo) the three were deposed as part of civil lawsuit brought by Eric Payne. The former chief contracting officer for the CFO's office who claims he was demoted and fired when he resisted pressure to rebid the lottery contract.
