A D.C. teenager shot and killed by a bullet intended for someone else has saved six lives with her donated organs, her family says.

Jamahri Sydnor died Saturday after she was hit by a bullet on Thursday, Aug. 10 on Saratoga Avenue NE. She was 17.

Police are still searching for Jamahri's killer.

Hundreds gathered to remember Jamahri near the site of the shooting Thursday night.

"Somebody out there knows who killed my baby. Somebody knows who did it," Jamahri's mother Q Wallace said at the vigil. "My baby don't deserve this."

Sydnor, a recent graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Northwest D.C. was due to start college at Florida A&M University within days. She was captain of her high school's cheerleading squad and sang in the choir.

"Forever remember this young lady," a man said at the vigil.

Two officers from the Upper Darby Police Department in Pennsylvania were among those who came to honor her. Jamahri's donated liver saved the life of an Upper Darby officer.

Five other lives were saved thanks to the teen's donated organs, her family said.
