City pools have opened for the summer in Washington.
The Department of Parks and Recreation opened the city's 19 swimming pools, 11 spray parks and five children's pools Saturday. The city's outdoor aquatic facilities will remain open through the Memorial Day weekend from noon to 6 p.m.
Indoor pools, recreation facilities and community centers will be closed Monday.
After Memorial Day weekend, outdoor pools will be open on weekends only until June 17, when city schools are dismissed for the summer. After June 17, outdoor pools will be open six days a week and closed one day a week for cleaning and maintenance.
Swimming at the pools is free for city residents and student at local universities.
