D.C. Street Sweeping Parking Restrictions Back in Effect

Starting Monday, street sweepers will be back at work in D.C. That means you'll need to watch for posted parking restrictions on many residential and arterial streets now through through Oct. 31.

Before you park, look for red-and-white sweeping signs. In those neighborhoods, you'll have to alternate which side of the street you park on during sweeping hours.

In addition, overnight scheduled sweeping of D.C. major roadways happens year-round, weather permitting. Drivers should obey the signs when parking in those areas during posted overnight sweeping hours.

If you don't take warning of the restricted times and days, you could end up with a $45 ticket.
