WASHINGTON -- Video of a robbery at an upscale men's clothing store in northwest Washington has led to tips that the same group of thieves is hitting stores across the city.

The video posted on YouTube shows nine young men walking into Universal Gear on 14th Street May 13, snatching clothes and then muscling their way past store workers as they flee.

The store's owner, David Franco, told The Washington Post the video has prompted calls from store managers in Georgetown and Dupont Circle telling him they also have been hit.

There was a similar attack involving women at a store on 14th Street several weeks ago, police said. District Cmdr. George Kucik calls the incidents "particularly brazen."
