Fatal Shooting After Midnight in NW D.C.

A man was shot to death in the Manor Park neighborhood of Northwest D.C. shortly after midnight on Saturday.

Police said that a Fourth District police unit was flagged down by residents around 12:30 to report the sound of gunshots.

Officers discovered a man bleeding from apparent gunshot wounds on North Capitol Street near Longfellow.  Police said they learned after an investigation that the man had been shot on a unit block of Longfellow.

The victim did not survive his wounds.  He has been identified as 32-year-old David Andrew Matthews, of Fort Washington, Md.

Police are seeking anyone with more information on this murder.  If you have a tip, call into to 1-888-919-2746.  A tip that leads to an arrest could earn as much as $25,000 in reward money.
