Police are hunting for the driver that left the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident overnight Saturday.

Prince George's police said the accident took place on University Boulevard and Baltimore Avenue in College Park.  Around 3:45 a.m., a passenger vehicle struck a person walking along the roadway there.

Investigators did not immediately identify the victim.

Police tell News4 the vehicle involved in the accident may be a red Honda Civic, last seen heading in the direction of Adelphi.

The car lost the driver's side mirror in the accident, and may have other front-end damage.

Prince George's Police seek the public's help in locating the car.  Callers can make an anonymous tip to the Crime Solvers hotline at 1-866-411 TIPS (8477).
