Condition of Yankees Fan Hurt at Orioles Game Worsens

The condition of a man injured in a fight and fall at a Baltimore Orioles game has worsened, a University of Maryland Medical Center official said.

Matthew Fortese, 25, of Hagerstown is in critical condition at the hospital's Shock Trauma center, hospital spokeswoman Karen Lancaster said Tuesday morning. He was in serious condition after his fall at Thursday's game against the Washington Nationals.

Fortese, who was wearing a New York Yankees cap, climbed a 5-foot wall at Oriole Park at Camden Yards to confront 21-year-old Michael Bell, who was throwing beer at people, Baltimore police said. As Fortese argued with Bell, Bell's friend, 22-year-old Gregory Fleischman, punched Fortese in the side of the head and he fell.

Fleischman and Bell were both charged with assault.
