A Fredericksburg man and his mother were taken into custody Friday following a police investigation into a burglary in the area.

A resident of the 200 block of Progress Street called police at 5 p.m. Thursday to report that for the second time in two days someone had broken into his home. He said firearms were taken the first time, personal items the next.

Following an investigation, police executed a search warrant on a home in the 2500 block of Caroline Street.

Police say two of the adults inside the home were arrested.

Brandon McBrayer, 29, was charged with a felony county of burglary.  His mother, 55-year-old Victoria Faulkner, was charged with possession of schedule I/II narcotics, distribution of schedule I/II narcotics and domestic assault and battery. Faulkner's charges are not related to the burglary investigation.
