NBCWashington.com

Arlington County police are looking for two robbers who targeted bicyclists on a trail Tuesday night.

A man was cycling on the Nelly Custis Bike Trail about 10:20 p.m. when two men tried to block the path. He was able to escape. As he was riding past them, he noticed one of them had a gun.

The next cyclist was not able to escape. The two men knocked him off his bicycle.  They stole his cell phone and ran.

A U.S. Park Police helicopter and Arlington County police K-9 unit were called in to search for the robbers. The men were not found.

The cyclist hurt in the attack was treated at Virginia Hospital Center. He is expected to make a full recovery.
