A woman was killed Tuesday night after driving the wrong way on a Springfield Road and then striking a tree.

The victim, Dinh Quy of Alexandria, was 62.

Fairfax County Police say that Quy was driving north in the southbound lanes of Rolling Road after leaving the parking lot of a shopping center at Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill Road around 7 p.m., she started.

After driving through the intersection of Old Keene Mill Road, Quy veered to the left and struck a tree on the west side of Rolling Road.

She was pronounced dead shortly after.

The accident remains under investigation. Police say they don't know yet if a medical condition, alcohol or speed were factors.
