19-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Wins $250,000 in Mega Millions

Nick Ruth diagnosed with leukemia in 2005

A teenage cancer survivor from Towson, Md., is a lot richer this morning.

Nick Ruth, 19, won $250,000 in the Mega Millions lottery. After taxes, he'll take home a little more than $165,000.

He says he plans to pay off his car, put money in the bank and donate some of it.

"As a cancer survivor, I can't really pay back what people have done for me in my past," he said. "They've really helped me out a lot, and I would like to at least give back to the community that gave to me. To show my gratitude and hopefully help someone else the way someone helped me."

Ruth was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005. He's been cancer free for four years now.
