Two apparent transgender people stabbed

WASHINGTON -- One transgender person died after two were stabbed in Northwest Wednesday afternoon, according to police sources.

Police received the report of an assault in the 200 block of Q Street Northwest after 2:30 p.m. Officers found two possible transgender people in front of a building suffering from stab wounds, police said.

One of the victims was taken to Howard University Hospital and was pronounced dead at 3:02 p.m. The second victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries that appear to be non-life-threatening.

Police are investigating the incident.
