Because what the D.C. food scene needs is another burger joint, Wahlburgers, a chain of restaurants started by actors Mark and Donnie Wahlberg and their brother, Paul Wahlberg, announced a second restaurant will be opening next year.
The company will open up a burger location next to the Ballston Common shopping mall in the Ballston Point building. Their doors are expected to open in early 2017.
This is the second restaurant for the brothers in the area. A Wahlburgers restaurant is expected to open in Dupont Circle later this year.
Paul Wahlberg, the chef in the family, puts casual comfort food on the menu in hopes of creating a “comfortable, friendly restaurant that would appeal to every generation.” Currently, there are locations in six states in the U.S. and two locations in Toronto, Canada.
A television program, “Wahlburgers,” airing on A&E, shows the behind the scenes efforts of the brothers to bring their restaurant dream to life.
