Dancing With the Stars professional dancers Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who became engaged in December, have called the whole thing off. The couple ended their year-long relationship, but both are currently performing on this season of DWTS.
"Dancing With the Stars" will return to the television for its tenth season this March.
ABC announced on Tuesday that the dancing reality competition would return to the small screen with a two-hour season premiere on Monday March 22.
He told reporters the show would feature fewer celebrity contestants this time around as there were too many last season.
"We had some lucky breaks [with] people dropping out the last time," he added.
In addition to the "Dancing" news, McPherson revealed that ABC will be launching its rumored spin-off to reality dating show "The Bachelor," called "The Bachelor Pad," set to begin this summer.
McPherson also announced pickups for comedies "Cougar Town," "The Middle" and "Modern Family."
