Woman Claims “Real World” Ridicule for Refusing to Have Sex

$5 million lawsuit filed in Superior Court

A woman hopes to cash in on "The Real World's" D.C. leg, claiming in a lawsuit that she was ridiculed publicly for refusing to have sex with a cast member, Reuters reported.

Golzar Amirmotazedi, who appeared on an episode that aired recently, wants $5 million. In the lawsuit filed in D.C. Superior Court, Amirmotazedi claims she was taken to the "Real World" house in September after getting drunk but was kicked out in the early morning hours because she wouldn't have sex. She was then portrayed as "crazy," "weird," a "mess" and a "stalker" on the show, Reuters reported.

The lawsuit claims that Amirmotazedi's privacy was invaded, that she was portrayed in a false light and that the show intentionally inflicted emotional harm on her.

But who would know? Is anyone actually watching?

Suing for invasion of privacy used to be commonplace in the unscripted television world, but producers have become very good at crafting strong liability waivers. As with the cases against the makers of the film "Borat," judges mostly have upheld these waivers, even under exigent circumstances.

In this case, Amirmotazedi claims she was too inebriated to sign a lawful waiver. "Outtakes from the 'Real World'... show that Plaintiff in fact was not in a position to provide her consent to Defendant portraying her in a false light or disclosing private facts about her," says the complaint.

The suit was filed against Viacom, MTV and Bunim/Murray Prods, Reuters reported. It could hinge on whether there's evidence that producers encouraged Amirmotazedi to get bombed.
