Still riding high on the success of his rousing keynote speech, former President Bill Clinton dropped by “The Daily Show” Thursday, where he discussed his Democratic National Convention speech, diplomacy and the Clinton Global Initiative.

Host Jon Stewart started off the segment by talking about Clinton’s well-received speech from the Democratic National Convention a few weeks ago.

“So, you give any good speeches lately?” Stewart quipped before commending Clinton’s keynote address.

Clinton, who campaigned against Obama during his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s, bid for the 2008 Democratic nomination, said he poured over the speech for "weeks and weeks and weeks" to simplify the argument, and to get the facts right.

“I have a wife with a traveling job, so I’m home alone a lot,” Clinton joked. “I have the time now to spend an hour or two a day trying to work this out.”

As Clinton spoke of getting “the facts right,” Stewart seized the opportunity to take a jab at GOP vice presidential running mate Paul Ryan over his convention speech.

“That you would utilize in your arguments facts,” Stewart mocked. “And that you would attach numbers to them that were real. I thought it was a bold choice on your part.”

Clinton also discussed the different projects pursued by the Clinton Global Initiative, which operates as a partnership between government, private industries and non-profit organizations.

“How do you get a group like this together in cooperation to move forward?” Stewart asked. “You’re like the world’s central schmoozer.”
