LAPD Responds to Bogus Shooting Report at Rihanna's Pacific Palisades Home

The call was a hoax, police determined

Police responded to Rihanna's Los Angeles home Thursday afternoon after receiving reports of a possible shooting and armed robbery at the residence, but authorities determined the call was a hoax.

Police were called shortly after 3 p.m. local time to the home in Pacific Palisades, on a private road but not gated, Lt. Andy Neiman said.

When law enforcement arrived, they found Rihanna's security guard at the home but no evidence of any crime.

Thursday's bogus was the second swatting incident in as many days.

Police descended on Sean "Diddy" Combs' Toluca Lake home on Wednesday after receiving a phony call that there was a shooting in the area.

Authorities later determined the call was related to the costly and resource-diverting practice of swatting, or making a fake police report that calls throngs of law enforcement to the scene of a non-existent crime.
