"We have tried five times since March 2009 to conceive. It's very hard," Angelil told Canadian news outlet etalk. "So when Saturday at 11:11, they showed us the first baby that was crying, we were crying."
Dion’s rep told People Saturday that one of the babies weighed 5 lbs., 4 oz.; the other weighed 5 lbs., 10oz.
The "My Heart Will Go On" singer famously opened up to Oprah Winfrey after her fourth attempt at in-vitro fertilization ended in a miscarriage by saying: "It's life. You know, a lot of people go through this but it's not being told because it's not in a newspaper."
In excerpts of Angelil's etalk interview set to air Monday and Tuesday and posted by People and Us mags, the music manager described having shared a post-delivery “emotional” silence with Dion where both “were thinking about the time that it took.”
“We are very lucky, very privileged and very fortunate to have these boys,” Angelil said.
Angelil added that the couple's other son, Rene-Charles, 9, was “very, very happy” to have brothers.
