Woody Allen's European Vacation Heading for Munich

With "Midnight in Paris" about to expand into more markets as it builds on its standing as Woody Allen's greatest box-office success, the writer-director is busy finishing his follow-up and is in talks to start work on yet another film.

Allen is still in Rome shooting "The Bop Decameron," but is already negotiating with Bavaria Studios to shoot his next, as yet untitled film, in Munich, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The budget is said to be in the neighborhood of $25 million, with shooting to begin next summer. As is his custom, Allen is keeping all artistic details under wraps.

"Midnight in Paris," Allen's best film in some 20 years, has now made more then $50 million domestically, breaking his personal record by roughly $10 million. Though to be fair, when you adjust the numbers for inflation, "Midnight" has made less than half of 1977's "Annie Hall."

"Bop," reportedly a modern take on Giovanni Boccaccio's "The Decameron," stars Allen, Ellen Page, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig and Alison Pill, in a series of vignettes set in Rome.
