Heavy Rain Results in Flood Warnings, Road Closures

    Heavy rain has moved out of the area but streams and creeks are still rising.

    A flood warning for northwestern Fairfax County and the city of Fairfax expires at 12:15 a.m.

    Several other warnings were issued througout the evening.

    Police in Fairfax County reported several road closures. There were also two water rescues, according to Fairfax County Fire.

    One in the Oakton area was dispatched about 7:15 p.m. A person was removed from a vehicle driven into high water.

    Another just before 8 p.m. on Hunter Mill Road involved four cars and five people. No injuries were reported in either incident.
